Where am I?

A reminder of my goal:
Facilitate and inspire student learning and creativity
  1. Promote, support, and model creative and innovative thinking and inventiveness
b. Engage students in exploring real-world issues and solving authentic problems using digital tools and resources
c. Promote student reflection using collaborative tools to reveal and clarify students’ conceptual understanding and thinking, planning, and creative processes
d. Model collaborative knowledge construction by engaging in learning with students, colleagues, and others in face-to-face and virtual environments
It is important to  reminding myself of my goal as I realized that I may lose focus of my task.  So far I have kept up-to-date on the latest tools through a variety of online PLCs. I found this one during my reading.

Tech tools

I was only familiar with a few of the tools mentions and it was enlightening to learn more.
In the last module:
Supporting Information Literacy and Online Inquiry in the Classroom (EDUC - 6712I - 2)
I learned about creating a process inquiry and I believe this would be an excellent avenue and adventure to take my students though. Many of my readings have suggest such an approach allows the exploration of real life issues. I am continually looking for new tools and strategies to engage my students with.

  1. Hello Semonique :
I agree with you in your statement of this week about :Facilitating and inspiring their students learning and creativity.
Educators from the last century used to just talk and open a book and go over the lessons without any student participation.. Now, teachers are flipping the classrooms and allowing their students to think out of the box, use creativity and keep them engaged. If we share with the students the current events in the world today, we are informing and instructing them in the problems that they do not hear about at their home. These information and sharing of ideas and comments can change their views and perspectives and will make them more aware of the real problems in today's world.. Looking at real world issues can change students outlook and perspectives and provide them with a fuller appreciation for what they are studying in the classroom. It is also necessary to assess and make them reflect in their learning to keep them interested. Allowing them to express their point of view is making them proud of their thoughts and participation (empower). It is our duty to keep up, continue growing through professional development and communicate with our students. Teachers should be willing to implement and use whatever students find to be most helpful to them in reaching their goals.
